This position is responsible for design, documentation and startup of projects, customer and employee product training, quality control, maintaining engineering standards, engineering/startup scheduling, and assisting in pre-bid review.
|Duties:||ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES|
Consults with the Customer and/or IT Departments in the analysis of computer hardware/software system needs to determine:
o scope and priorities of project tasks
o system capacity
o hardware/software implementations
Recommends and manages the implementation, upgrade and maintenance of network equipment such as printers, servers, routers, switches and firewalls.
Provides escalated troubleshooting for installation technicians working with clients.
Works with the Designer to create engineered drawings including but not limited to initial sketches for proposals, IT designs for production, floor plans, block diagrams, point to point, details for installation, and as-built documentation for job completion.
Creates loading schedules and updates material requisitions to ensure the proper model number will be ordered by the Project Manager at beginning of jobs.
Works with the project installation team and the Project Manager at the time of startup to ensure all aspects of the system are working, tested, documented, and reporting properly.
Labels, configures, loads manufacture software, create loading schedules, and tests all IT components prior to system installation.
Creates manufacture specific training syllabuses that can be used for customer and Aronson Security Group employee training on the systems that the Company sells and maintains.
Acts as the technical support backup for the installation and service department as needed.
Supports sales by reviewing the functionality and design of systems being proposed by sales or consultants.
Works with the Estimators as a technical resource.
Estimates accurate engineering hours on all projects and ensure engineering and training hours posted do not exceed estimated values.
Works with the Operations Manager to maintain company engineering and drafting standards.
Maintains the engineering and project files on the company file server.
Stays current with company policies, procedures and products.
Stays current on industry standards and technological developments.
Studies literature, attends seminars, and training classes to keep current in products, processes and materials.
An Associates degree in a technical capacity is desirable.
Four plus years working in an electronic field where AC/DC theory is used on a daily basis.
Four plus years working with computers at the systems level with implementation and configuration of, IT technology, and analog/digital telecommunications devices.
Hands on PLC and relay logic.
Use of CAD and/or Visio, and drafting techniques.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Networking TCP/IP, MS Operating Systems, MS Office Suite, design software, and project management software. Must also be able to recognize the dynamic nature of technology and software, and acquire new skill sets as they become important to the success of the Company. Currently, an individual should have knowledge of a wide range of software including core competencies in the installation and maintenance of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office, SQL and other Databases. This position also requires some knowledge of firewall implementation, switch configuration, and network segmentation and subnetting.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
CCDA, CCNA & MCSE are preferred. In addition, Limited Energy Specialty Electrician License, and manufacture training certificates are desired, but not required.
